What's the Difference Between Microblading, Powder Brows, Ombre Brows, Nano Brows, Combination B

As the owner and Master Artist at HRH Beauty, I often get asked what the difference is between all these difference techniques and which is best suited for my skin type and /or lifestyle. Here is a quick and easy guide to help you decide, which is best for you!

Microbladng are hair strokes created using a manual blade that mimics the look of natural eyebrow hairs. Recommended for normal to dry skin types only. Microblading will NOT heal well on oily skin.

Nano brows are hair strokes created using a single nano needle and a permanent makeup machine to mimic the look of natural eyebrow hairs. This is a great option for those who are adamant about having a hair-like appearance but have combination or oily skin. Also a great option for those who suffer from alopecia or have other skin conditions that may not be suitable for microblading.

Powder or Ombre Brows are a beautiful soft dusting of pigment using a permanent makeup machine that creates a very natural fullness and/or density to the eyebrows. This in particular is my favourite technique as it heals very evenly and creates an extremely soft and natural appearance. This technique is ideal for all skin types and causes the least amount of trauma to the skin.

Combination brows are a combination of hair strokes and shading, just like the name suggests. The hair strokes can be created using a manual microblade or by using a nano needle and machine. The shading, also referred to as powder brows, are also added onto the strokes to create a “background” or density to the eyebrows. This is ideal for all skin types and recommended for those who have very sparse or little to no natural eyebrow hairs (ie. cancer survivors, alopecia clients or those who have over-plucked). Hair strokes alone may not provide adequate coverage or density for these types of clients, therefore, having a combination of hair strokes and shading will create the most realistic results.
